Hands-on Foot Care Training Workshop
With numbers of Seniors and Boomers increasing in our society, routine foot care is a skill that nurses and other health care professionals need to add to their practices. Dr. Julia Overstreet will take only seven students at a time for a full day of hands on training. The day begins with 1 hour of practice with the instruments and sanders so you can become more comfortable with the instruments that you will be using. You will practice using each instrument on practice materials that simulate nails and calluses.
The rest of the day is spent with patients! Each student will be able to work with as many patients as their speed permits. Dr. Overstreet will be at chair side to instruct, demonstrate, advise and encourage! Remember that there will only be seven students at each session so you will have excellent mentoring from Dr. Overstreet. You will leave this day with the confidence and skills to immediately begin providing foot care as a part of your practice.
If your goal is to apply for WOCN or AFCNA.org Foot & Nail Care Certification, this program qualifies and fulfills the hands-on requirement for that certification.
The program is held at a facility in Issaquah, Washington. It is offered three days each month.
