Description

Foot Care Nurse Training Workshop

For high-quality, specialized instruction, explore our hands-on foot care training workshops. With small class sizes of only 6 students, you will receive practical and professional experiences with a variety of foot care instruments. Our foot care seminars for nurses also fulfill certification requirements for WOCN and AFCNA Foot & Nail Care Certification.

Our instructors are industry professionals who will support and mentor you every step of the way as you work on both simulated and patient nails. We offer 3-day sessions once a month, and we also provide all the necessary equipment, resources, and reference materials required for the training. Take a look at our current listings and register for your session today.

With numbers of Seniors and Boomers increasing in our society, routine foot care is a skill that nurses and other health care professionals need to add to their practices. Dr. Julia Overstreet will take only six students at a time for a full day of hands on training. The day begins with 1 hour of practice with the instruments and sanders so you can become more comfortable with the instruments that you will be using. You will practice using each instrument on practice materials that simulate nails and calluses.

The rest of Day 1 and all of Days 2 & 3 is spent with patients! Each student will be able to work with as many patients as their speed permits. Dr. Overstreet will be at chair side to instruct, demonstrate, advise and encourage! Remember that there will only be six students at each session so you will have excellent mentoring from Dr. Overstreet as well as 2 additional Proctors who are Certified Foot Care Specialists. You will leave this workshop with the confidence and skills to immediately begin providing foot care as a part of your practice.

If your goal is to apply for WOCN or AFCNA.org Foot & Nail Care Certification, this program qualifies and fulfills the hands-on requirement for that certification.
The program is held at a facility in Issaquah, Washington. It is offered three days each month. Check the listings below for availability.

Your training package includes:

  • All Instruments and equipment needed for the full day
  • Training references and handouts
  • Medicare compliant patient encounter document sheets
  • Infection control protocol worksheets
  • Special information & material to help you start your own foot care practice
  • One-on-one proctoring from Dr. Overstreet with a maximum of 6 students per session
  • Lots of challenging feet to learn on!

Refund Policy:
This class is limited to only six nurses per day. We have roughly 50 patients coming for each class. So if one of the nurses cancels at the last minute, it puts a burden on the remaining nurses. They are not able to spend the time they need to work with each patient fully and provide good care.

If you need to cancel, please call or text 425-985-3639 and leave a message, giving your name and the date you are canceling. You can also leave an email at Julia@DrJulia.com with the same information. If we receive this voicemail or email fourteen (14) days prior to your class, or if we can refill your spot, you qualify for a full refund or for rescheduling to the next available class at no additional charge. However, if you do not inform us fourteen (14) days in advance, (or we can't replace you if we are notified closer to class, you forfeit 75% of your tuition. The exceptions to this would be a "snow or weather day." or an illness, verified by a doctor's note.
