Crest Hammertoe Pad

Count on all-day toe pain relief with Toe Crest Pad. Extra cushioning relief for hammer and bent toes. Even when you wear them all day - these cushions refuse to flatten. Odorless, soft Toe Crest cushions can be worn by even the most sensitive toes. As with any pad, if the patient is neuropathic, be sure that while wearing the pad he checks regularly for areas of redness or irritation.

Toe Crest helps relieve hammer, mallet or arthritic toes, while easing pressure on toe tips and reducing stress on the metatarsal shafts. Helps prevent corns, calluses and blisters, and comforts related forefoot pain. An toe loop helps keep cushion in place without adhesives.

These pads will not bottom out like foam. The reinforced toe loop increases durability. Available in left or right and in Silipos Gel or Deluxe Suede. Washable and reusable.

Information for Nurses:
These pads are particularly helpful with painful distal tip lesions caused by hammer toes. This pad stays nestled in the sulcus area at the base of the toes and lifts the toes just enough to relieve pressure on that distal tip. It does not lift it enough to cause secondary pressure if the shoes are appropriately fitted.

In my practice I have found that this is the most requested and most consistently worn pad that I dispense. Unless the patients are neuropathic, distal tip lesions are extremely painful and can easily develop into significant ulcerations. Both the pain and the potential ulcerations are alleviated with these fabulous pads. Each pad will last the patient for many months and can be cleaned with soap and water in the sink.

With wide end pointing toward big toe and flat side facing floor, position cushion under little toes. Slip strap over the second, third or fourth toe. Pull loose end of strap gently until cushion fits comfortably against skin. Do not adjust strap too tightly. When removing from foot, slide off carefully to prevent strap from slipping out of slot.

Hand wash in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly. Press flat in towel to remove excess moisture. Air dry completely before reuse.
