Hammertoe Control Aid

This brace eases pain by helping to separate and straighten hammertoes. The slip on brace features an adjustable loop that gently encourages proper tone alignment while a soft, double layer pad comforts the ball-of-foot area. Unlike a hammertoe brace, this orthotic provides passive pressure that helps keep the muscles from curling or tightening into a position that can make the condition worse.

Remember -- only surgery will create a permanent change in hammertoes. However, that doesn’t mean there's nothing you can do to alleviate the discomfort of painful hammertoes. Orthotics, braces, and splints might not fix broken bones, but they can be effective at straightening hammertoes, preventing the condition from getting worse, and can act as a preventative measure against blisters and ulcerations. If the hammertoes are still flexible enough to straighten out, this product can gently hold them in place, helping to prevent blisters and calluses on the top or the tip of the hammertoe. Using a hammer toe brace prevents pressure and rubbing, making the patient much more comfortable. It may also prevent blisters and ulcerations, making it easier to walk and stand.

This hammertoe medical device is only designed to be worn only during the day and in shoes. It should be taken off at night and when the patient is barefoot or just in socks.The pad will last a long time, and can be gently washed with soap and water in the sink. The elastic bands, which fit over the toes are adjustable, and come in 1 or 2 toe loop options.(There is no "right" or "left")
